Montenegro becomes 29th NATO member state
DUSHANBE, 06.06.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On Monday, Montenegro officially joined NATO becoming its 29th member state. The Washington ceremony of accession, hosted by US Undersecretary of State Thomas Shannon, was attended by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, TASS reports.
During the ceremony, Montenegro’s Prime Minister Dusko Markovic handed the Protocol of Accession to Shannon.
According to Xinhua news agency, on Wednesday, Montenegro’s flag will fly over NATO Headquarters in Brussels for the first time.
