First meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Council on Tourism Coordination held in Dushanbe
DUSHANBE, 24.08.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The first meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Council on Tourism Coordination chaired by the Chairman of the Council, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Azim Ibrohim was held in Dushanbe. NIAT “Khovar” has been reported by the Committee on Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The meeting was attended by the heads of ministries and departments, chairmen of provinces and chairmen of cities and districts of republican subordination, and discussed the completed works on tourism development in the first half of 2017, the course of implementation of Tourism Development Program for 2015-2017, approving Council Working Plan for 2018 and other issues on the agenda of the tourism sector.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the country opening the meeting noted that by initiative and support of the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon was founded the Committee on Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and started functioning.
In order to strengthen the normative and legal framework of tourism sector, a number of laws, including Laws of the Republic of Tajikistan “On tourism”, “On domestic tourism”, Tourism Development Concept, Tourism Development Program for 2015-2017 and other important documents were approved and implemented. In this context, the establishment of the Inter-ministerial Council on Tourism Coordination is the next step.
According to the Address of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Majlisi Oli of the republic, a number of tax and customs privileges are offered to the tourism sector that will give new impetus to the development of the sector.
Generally, the attention of the world community has increased to the tourist resources of Tajikistan and the image of the country has grown as a peaceful country and having a rich tourism resources.
Chairman of the Committee on Tourism Development under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the First Deputy Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Council on Tourism Coordination Numon Abdugafforzoda expressed that “the activity of the newly established Committee is directed at the promotion of tourism opportunities of the country in the republic and abroad, the broader attraction of tourists, the identification and elimination of barriers and problems of the sector, the use of tourism as one of the important aspects of entrepreneurship activity, human capital development and training of specialists meeting modern requirements, as well as attraction of investments into tourism infrastructure development, entering of the country’s tourism sector to the global tourism market and other issues of the sector.
It was confidently emphasized that on the basis of the comprehensive support of the Leader of the Nation Emomali Rahmon tourism sector will gradually become one of the most profitable sectors of the national economy.
Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Council, Deputy Prime Minister of the country Azim Ibrahim, summarizing meeting, regarding noted points instructed a number of ministries and departments, including OJSC “Dushanbe International Airport”, Customs Service, Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security, Statistical Agency, Forestry Agency, Committee on Environment Protection, the State Committee on Investments and State Property Management, and other authorities to eliminate the obstacles and develop tourism in the country.
We will recall that by the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan from September 5, 2015 the Inter-Ministerial Council for Tourism Coordination was established under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. This Council is a permanent body for consulting and coordination in tourism development sector.
The Council has been established to provide interaction between the local government authorities, public organizations, enterprises and individuals in tourism sector, hotels, trade, public catering and organizations, regardless of their form of ownership, dealing to offer goods and tourism services.
