Tajikistan International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship Named National Coordinator of Green University Ranking

DUSHANBE, 14.07.2026 (NIAT Khovar) – The International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan has been selected as the national coordinator for the international Green University Ranking in 2026, aimed at involving higher education institutions across the country, Rector Ubaydullo Asrorzoda announced during a press conference on July 13.
According to the Rector, the university has achieved significant progress in improving the quality of education, expanding international cooperation, developing research activities, training highly qualified specialists, promoting dual education, introducing digital technologies and implementing the “Green University” initiative.
He noted that the revision of the Action Plan under the Development Strategy of the International University of Tourism and Entrepreneurship of Tajikistan for 2027–2029 will create additional opportunities for the timely implementation of priority projects, infrastructure development, strengthening the material and technical base, improving the quality of education and research, and expanding international partnerships.
It was reported that, in line with the instructions and directives of President Emomali Rahmon outlined in his Address to the Majlisi Oli, the university has taken important steps toward developing a green economy, promoting renewable energy sources and introducing environmentally friendly technologies.
In cooperation with the Asian Development Bank under the project “Development of Professional Skills and Employment Opportunities,” the university commissioned a 150 kW solar power plant, becoming an important step toward establishing a sustainable “green university” model.
During the press conference, Ubaydullo Asrorzoda also briefed journalists on other achievements and future development plans of the university, including preparations for the 2026–2027 academic year.
The university’s faculty and students expressed their intention to welcome the 35th anniversary of Tajikistan’s State Independence and the new academic year with significant achievements.
