Tajik Foreign Minister attended the Meeting of Central Asia – EU Foreign Ministers
DUSHANBE, 10.11.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The regular Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the countries of Central Asia and the European Union took place in Samarkand city of the Republic of Uzbekistan on November 10. The meeting was attended by the Foreign Ministers of Central Asian countries, including Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Aslov and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini.
According to the Foreign Ministry of the country, participants discussed a wide range of issues, including regional cooperation and security, the economic development of the Central Asian region, the prospects for relations between the countries of Central Asia and the European Union, as well as other regional and international issues.
The Ministers agreed on the importance of continuing the cooperation of the countries of the region with the European Union in order to increase the economic, transit and transport potential of the countries of Central Asia, which depends on the successful implementation of programs aimed at the improvement of investment climate, ensuring sustainable economic growth, effective border management, human development through enhancement of quality of education and support of small and medium-sized businesses and employment.
The ministers adopted a Joint communiqué following the meeting.
