Historical and Cultural Areas of Khatlon Province to Undergo Development
DUSHANBE, 03.05.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The Deputy Chairman of the Khatlon Province Rajabali Rajabov met with the World Bank (WB) delegation on the Rural Economic Development Project led by Andrea Dall Olio, the leading specialist of the Financial Department at the WB, yesterday in Bokhtar to discuss cooperation in the fields of production, processing and storage of agricultural products, the creation of enterprises for the production of dairy products and the development of tourism.
During the meeting, the parties expressed their satisfaction with the current state of bilateral cooperation.
“The financial and economic opportunities of the Khatlon Province are very multifaceted, and now it is particularly profitable to develop the agro-industrial complex and tourism,” stressed Olio.
“These directions coincide with the Years of Rural Development, Tourism and Folk Crafts announced by President Emomali Rahmon,” explained Rajabov.
Within the project Economic Development of Rural Areas, the WB will allocate $3,4 million for the development of historical and cultural areas Chiluchorchashma, Hulbuk and Khoja Mashhad. During the project implementation, special signs especially designated for tourists in three languages will be created and placed on the roads and tourist routes, indicating information about the location of historical, cultural, recreational and resort areas.
