Tajikistan and the European Union Discuss Security Cooperation
DUSHANBE, 18.05.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The Minister of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan Ramazon Rahimzoda met with the Deputy Secretary General for General Security and Defense Policy, Crisis Response of the European External Relations Service Pedro Serrano on Thursday in Dushanbe.
Rahimzoda expressed confidence that the meeting would be fruitful and contribute to the improvement of further cooperation.
“The European Convention on the Prevention of Terrorism, signed in 1977 in Strasbourg, was approved by Tajikistan, which addresses all the issues of cooperation in this area with the European Union,” noted Rahimzoda.
The parties discussed issues relating to ensuring security and cooperation in the fight against crime and expressed a number of interesting proposals for the development and expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation.
