DUSHANBE, 28.02.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon presided over a regular session of the government of Tajikistan where he introduced the newly-appointed officials.

The meeting centered on the implementation of the governmental decree «About the Program of Labor Organization and Development of Industrial Production in Correctional Institutions for 2015-2020.» The Minister of Justice Muzaffar Ashuriyan gave a report on the subject.

The program was adopted in 2014 with the purpose developing the productive sector and determining an effective use of punishment.

The labor activity of convicts is fixed asset of education concerning preserving procedure and discipline in places of execution of criminal penalties. Work of convicts allows in modern conditions to function normally to correctional facility, to provide needs of convicts, to help families, to save up necessary means for the device after punishment departure.

The head of the State Committee on Land Management and Geodesy Orif Khojazoda also reported on the the availability of land, its distribution by category, type and use.

Government members discussed the bills which have been submitted to the Assembly of Representatives for consideration, including the draft laws «On the State Budget of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2020,» “On State Duties,»  “On Pledge of Movable Property and Registration of Secured Obligations,» «On Legal Aid,» “On Advocacy,» “On State Registration of Immovable Property and Rights to It,» “On Permission System,» “On Cinema,” and «On Insurance and State Pensions.»

They also discussed the bills «On Making Amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Tajikistan ‘On Administrative Offenses and ‘On Civil procedure Code».

Minister of Healthcare Nasim Olimzoda updated the attendees about the measures taken by the government to prevent the threats linked with the spreading of the coronavirus.

Olimzoda noted that, as of today, not a single case of coronavirus infection has been recorded among citizens of Tajikistan and other nationals that have arrived in Tajikistan.

Operational measures are being taken to ensure national sanitary and epidemiological safety, quarantine coverage, and purchase of facemasks, disinfection materials, testing equipment as well as food supplies. The measures in this direction are directly under the control of President Rahmon, who has called for the timely fulfillment of the sets of tasks and instructed members of the government regarding the implementation of state programs and strategies.
