DUSHANBE, 06.11.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – Today at 02:00, during a special operation by officers of the Operational Group of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) the activities of a transnational drug-trafficking group have been revealed on S. Shohin – Kulob highway, near the border with Afghanistan, reports SCNS’s Public Relations Center.

During the operation, an active member of the group, a Kulob resident Hokim Ismoilov was detained in possession of 86 kg of drugs.

He had allegedly purchased drugs from his accomplice, an Afghan citizen Khoja Same valadi Khoja Safeullo, a resident of Kunduz province. He had intended to smuggle them outside the country.

A criminal case has been initiated under Articles 195, 200, 289 and 335 of the Criminal Code of Tajikistan. A preliminary investigation is underway.
