Coordination Council Meeting Focuses on Cooperation of Departments Against Drug Abuse

DUSHANBE, 17.12.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, per Drug Control Agency’s initiative, a meeting of the Coordination Council on Drug Abuse Prevention was held under the leadership of the Council’s Chairman, Deputy Prime Minister Matlubakhon Sattoriyon.
The meeting was attended by the Director of the Drug Control Agency Habibullo Vohidzoda, Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population Ghafur Muhsinzoda, and other officials.
The meeting focused on a number of issues, including on cooperation between ministries and departments in combating drug trafficking and control over their legal circulation, on the promotion of access to narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances as medicines in order to promote medical and scientific work under international control, as well as to prevention of legal traffic to illegal traffic, on the problems of law enforcement agencies in determining the volume of potent and toxic drugs, information on the implementation of the decisions of the council protocols and the results of the action plan for 2019, as well as on activities for the nine months of 2020.
The plan for 2021 received approval, and appropriate decisions were made on other issues discussed.
