DUSHANBE, 12.02.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, craftsmen and stonemasons from different regions of Tajikistan, who won district and regional rounds, attended the republican round of the contest dedicated to decorative crafts from stones.

The purpose of this competition is to revive and promote folk crafts, especially the development of decorative stone products, finding new talent, creating jobs and thus improving the welfare of the people.

Stonemasons and craftsmen from Sughd, Khatlon, Badakhshon and Dushanbe took part in the final round of the competition and exhibited their handicrafts.

The competition was summed up in three nominations, including in Industrial Enterprise, Professional Craftsman, and Craftsman.

Guests and participants viewed the handicrafts as well as the members of the competition commission assessed the quality of production of decorative handicrafts from stone, the organization of exhibitions of each craftsman, the form of presentation of decorative handicrafts from stone, the level of education of students and the establishment of handicraft schools, the level of knowledge of folk handicrafts, innovation and initiative in improving stone handicrafts.
