Yatimov recalled the latest events taking place in the Tajik and Kyrgyz border regions.
“The Tajik and Kyrgyz delegations have met on multiple occasions to negotiate the issues of normalizing the situation on the border territory of the two countries.
On May 1, Tajik and Kyrgyz governmental delegations on the border delimitation and demarcation held a meeting in Batken of the Kyrgyz Republic. Both parties expressed regret over the recent events and came to an agreement to immediately begin the return of military equipment to their permanent location. A thorough exchange of views took place on the issues of delimitation and demarcation of the Tajik-Kyrgyz state border. Having noted the ancient history of the fraternal peoples, the officials expressed their readiness to solve all existing border problems.
Vorukh and Chorkuh have a long history, and the residents of this land have a high sense of patriotism and national pride. Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan will resolve the border dispute in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and through negotiations.
Ahmadzoda noted that since the creation of working commissions, the elimination of the consequences of border conflicts continues. Residential areas damaged by the conflict will be fully rebuilt, and houses affected by the conflict will be repaired as soon as possible.
Following the meeting, Yatimov expressed condolences to the families of the victims of the conflict.
