DUSHANBE, 17.11.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Special tactical exercises named Cobalt-2021are being held from November 15 through November 20 at the Fakhrobod military training ground in Tajikistan, reports the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan.

The theme of the exercises is Planning and Conducting Special Operations to Eliminate Illegal Armed Formations. They are attended by special forces units of the Ministries of the Interior and the Rapid Reaction Force of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

The exercises are aimed at strengthening international cooperation between law enforcement and security agencies in the fight against modern threats and challenges. Representatives from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and the CSTO arrived in Tajikistan to participate in the exercises.

The special forces units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan and the 201st military base of the Russian Ministry of Defense in Tajikistan are also taking an active part in tactical exercises to improve their skills and exchange experience.

The active phase is scheduled for November 19. It will be attended by the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, law enforcement agencies, and power structures of Tajikistan, and representatives of a number of diplomatic corps of the CSTO member states.
