Tajik Rescuers Remove 31 Bodies from Rubble in Kahramanmaras in a Day

DUSHANBE, 14.02.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – A rescue team of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the government of Tajikistan over the past day during an 18-hour search and rescue operation discovered and removed 31 bodies from the rubble in the center of Kahramanmaras.
Since the beginning of rescue operations, Tajik rescuers have managed to remove 109 bodies from the rubble.
The rescue team works in very difficult conditions with special equipment and manually. With the help of special equipment, the Committee’s employees find, extract the living, stuck under concrete piles, and remove the bodies of the dead. In addition, Tajik specialists provide first aid.
In two days, rescuers of Tajikistan managed to do the impossible — 6-7 days after the earthquake, when everyone had already lost hope, to find and extract three survivors, two of whom are children.
