World Bank Will Assist to Eliminate Shortcomings in Some Areas in Khatlon

DUSHANBE, 21.02.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – While developing and presenting government projects, the World Bank in Tajikistan will direct the allocation of grant funds to the development of important areas for the population of the Khatlon region. This was stated during the meeting of the regional administration with representatives of the bank.
It was expressed satisfaction with cooperation in the development of agriculture, education, healthcare, and road transport.
Over the 30 years of its activity in Tajikistan, the World Bank has implemented more than 110 projects in the economic and social spheres of Tajikistan for a total amount of more than $2.3 billion. Most of this funding went to the Khatlon region.
Currently, 14 state investment projects are being implemented in the region with the support of the World Bank in the amount of $260 million.
