DUSHANBE, 28.04.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – On April 28, at 1:30 am, an armed group of transnational smugglers, consisting of 8 people, led by Dodihudo, Nodirsho and Zabi bin Muhammadsakhi, residents of Kariyai Barpanj of the Shugnan county of the Afghan Badakhshan Province, with the aim of transporting drugs on an especially large scale, as well as weapons and ammunition, crossed the line of the state border of Tajikistan and Afghanistan at the 184th mark of the protected zone of the 9th border outpost of the “Tishor” of the Khorog Border Detachment, reports the Press Center of the Khorog Border Detachment of the Border Troops Department of the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan for the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region.
The smugglers did not obey the order of the Tajik border guards to surrender and opened fire from group weapons.
Unable to withstand the return fire, the criminals threw drugs, weapons and ammunition at the scene and, using the dark time of the day, fled to Afghanistan.
3 accomplices of Afghan smugglers, citizens of Tajikistan, Domullojonov Emin Amirovich, born in 1982, a native and resident of Buston of the Sughd region, Saidmanzarov Nido Saifulloevich, born in 1993, a native and resident of the Yomchi village of the Shugnon district, a resident of Khujand and Saidmursalov Navras Saidmusoevich, born in 1987, a native and resident of the Shugnon district of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region were detained at the scene.
45 kg of heroin, 1 Kalashnikov assault rifle with 4 magazines, 74 cartridges, 1 special night vision device, $10,000 were found and seized at the scene.
Unfortunately, one soldier was killed during an armed skirmish with Afghan smugglers.
A criminal case has been initiated on this fact, as well as operational-search and investigative measures are being carried out.
