National Bank of Tajikistan and the Interstate Bank Expand Correspondent Relations

DUSHANBE, 24.08.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Important aspects of strengthening bilateral cooperation in various areas of the banking system were discussed at the meeting of the Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan Hokim Kholikzoda with the President of the Interstate Bank Andrey Lipin in Dushanbe.
The Interstate Bank continues its activities to promote economic cooperation and strengthen financial and banking relations between the member countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The parties discussed the expansion of correspondent relations by expanding operations and payments in the national currency, finding a new way of cooperation with the Interstate Bank and exchanging experience in the sectors of economic policy, investment climate reform and other issues of interest.
The issues of strengthening trade finance, mutual settlements in the national currency and expanding the network of accounts were also touched upon.
It should be noted that the Interstate Bank was established on January 22, 1993 by the heads of government and central (national) banks of the CIS countries in order to promote economic cooperation and organize multilateral financial and banking relations between the CIS member states and carried out its activities as an international credit and financial organization.
