Tajik Prosecutor General’s Office and the Chinese Supreme People’s Procuratorate Expand Cooperation

DUSHANBE, 07.11.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – On November 7 in Xian, the Prosecutor General of Tajikistan Yusuf Rahmon met with the Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate of China Ying Yong.
The meeting focused on issues of intensifying efforts in the fight against extremism, terrorism, cybercrimes, drug trafficking, transnational organized crime, as well as security issues.
It was reached an agreement on the issues of extradition of criminals, provision of legal assistance in criminal cases and other mutual legal assistance.
The parties emphasized the importance of expanding close cooperation between the relevant law enforcement agencies of the parties to resolve these issues.
It was especially noted that this course of bilateral legal cooperation was set by the leaders of the two countries — the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and the President of China Xi Jinping on May 18, 2023, during the state visit of the President of Tajikistan to China.
