Tajikistan and Qatar Discuss Cooperation between the Prosecutor’s Offices

DUSHANBE, 20.02.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – Cooperation between the prosecutor’s offices of Tajikistan and Qatar was discussed on February 17 in Doha during a meeting between the Prosecutor General of Tajikistan Yusuf Rahmon and the Attorney General of the State of Qatar Dr. Issa bin Saad Al Juffali Al Nuaimi.
The meeting focused on issues of strengthening bilateral cooperation on the practical implementation of international treaties on the extradition of criminals, on the provision of legal assistance in criminal cases and on the return of convicts to further serve their sentences, signed in 2023.
The parties also discussed cooperation between the prosecutor’s offices in countering international terrorism, radicalism and extremism, human trafficking, drug trafficking and other manifestations of transnational organized crime, as well as noted the importance of uniting the parties in the collective fight against these phenomena.
The parties reached an agreement on cooperation in order to increase the intellectual potential of each other’s employees and develop infrastructure in the field of using new digital technologies and artificial intelligence in the activities of prosecutors’ offices.
