DUSHANBE, 07.07.2024 (NIAT Khovar) – On September 7, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, during his working trip to Sughd Province, opened the «Tajik Metallurgical Plant» in the industrial area of ​​the city of Guliston, and got acquainted with the production process.

The new industrial facility was built on the basis of friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, and its activity is focused on the production of construction products of rods and fittings.

The production lines of the enterprise are of the new generation of the developed countries of the world, and its production capacity is 30 thousand tons of products per year.

With the establishment and start of operation of the «Tajik Metallurgical Plant» in the city of Guliston, about 130 local residents, most of whom are young professionals, have been provided with jobs and good salaries.

Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon interpreted the launch of a new industrial enterprise as an important factor and a steady step towards achieving one of the strategic goals of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan — rapid industrialization of the country.

Raw materials for the manufacturing of construction products will be available to the new industrial enterprise from within the country, and according to the plan, the annual production volume will be 15 million dollars.

Here, the project of construction of the second stage of «Tajik Metallurgical Plant» was presented to the President of the country, Emomali Rahmon.

It was reported that the construction works of the second stage of the industrial enterprise in the city of Guliston will begin at the end of 2024 and will be put into operation in 2025.

After the start of operation of the second stage of the enterprise, along with rods and fittings, the production of other types of iron equipment in accordance with today’s requirements will be launched, and the production capacity of «Tajik Metallurgical Plant» will be increased to 50 thousand tons of products per year. In the second phase, another 130 jobs will be created.

Honorable Head of State Emomali Rahmon gave useful instructions and advice to the officials for quality performance of construction works and activation of the second stage of the enterprise within the specified period.

It is important to emphasize that there are about 50 industrial enterprises operating in the city of Guliston, Sughd Province, and in them, the production of import-substituting and export-oriented products is often carried out using the available opportunities and capacities.

In the Republic of Tajikistan, there are only 11 armature production enterprises, and this newly established enterprise is considered the largest.

100 tons of scrap iron are processed at the plant per day. The average salary of workers is 4500 somoni.
