Border junction treaty between Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan to boost trust — SCO

DUSHANBE, 02.04.2025 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The treaty establishing the junction point of the borders between Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan that has been signed by the three countries’ presidents will contribute to boosting mutual trust, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Secretariat said in a statement, TASS reports.
«The March 31, 2025, signing of the treaty <…> is an important step towards strengthening mutual trust and good-neighborly relations between the three nations,» the statement reads.
The organization welcomed the signing of the treaty, which is expected «to make a considerable contribution to ensuring peace and stability across the SCO.»
President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan, President Sadyr Japarov of Kyrgyzstan and President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan signed the treaty on Monday. The signing ceremony took place during their meeting in Khujand, the administrative center of Tajikistan’s northern Sughd Region.
