Dushanbe Hosts 56th Meeting of CIS Security Chiefs

DUSHANBE, 16.05.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – The 56th meeting of the Council of Heads of Security Agencies and Special Services of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) is being held today in Dushanbe, reports the State Committee for National Security of Tajikistan.
During the plenary meeting, participants are focusing on strengthening cooperation among CIS member states in countering terrorism, religious extremism, and cybercrime.
The agenda includes the development of additional measures to detect dormant cells of terrorist and extremist organizations within the CIS region. The Council is also expected to approve a draft analytical report offering a comprehensive assessment and forecast of emerging security threats across member states.
Delegates will also review the results of the implementation of the 2023–2025 CIS Program of Cooperation on Combating Terrorism and Other Violent Forms of Extremism, with a particular focus on achievements in 2024.
In parallel, several working group meetings will take place, addressing specific operational and service-related areas within the Council’s framework.
