First, the President of the country was presented with the project for the construction of the «Pahndara Mining» OJSC.
It was reported that this enterprise has been engaged in geological and survey work in the Pahndara antimony formation in Aini district for four years, and during this time it has carried out these works on an area of more than 600 hectares. Drilling work has been accomplished to an extent of more than 20 thousand meters and other geological and survey measures have been carried out in this process.
During the presentation of the project to the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, it was informed that the enterprise under construction consists of several stages, including leveling the slopes and hills for construction work, construction of production and administrative facilities such as workshops for ore enrichment, antimony production, mills, sand and gravel processing, concrete mixing, warehouses for storing spare parts, raw and crushed materials, a water reservoir, a laboratory building, and other production and auxiliary facilities for the extraction and processing of antimony.
The construction process is under the supervision of world-class specialists and architects.
The enterprise also has modern administrative buildings, a dormitory and canteen for 300 workers.
Many measures have been taken to provide the necessary infrastructure for the start of construction and production work. The construction of a 110 kW high-voltage power line from the Maykhura village substation to the enterprise site at a distance of 22 km, the construction of a 110 kW high-voltage power substation to provide the enterprise with constant electricity, the construction of a 33 km highway from the Anzob village to the enterprise site, and the construction of a water pipeline over a distance of more than 6 km are among the measures that are being carried out within the framework of the project to build the «Pahndara Mining» OJSC.
It is worth noting that the enterprise under construction is located at an altitude of 2,700 meters above sea level, while the mining area of the mine is at an altitude of 3,000 meters, where mining operations are carried out using open-pit and mine methods. The annual production capacity of the enterprise is planned to be more than 150 thousand tons of ore, the volume of antimony concentrate production is up to 50 thousand tons with an antimony content of up to 35%, and the annual capacity of the antimony ore production plant is up to 5 thousand tons of finished products.
At the beginning of construction work, more than 60 special equipment and mechanisms, other types of vehicles, and 300 domestic and foreign specialists were deployed here for the implementation of the project.
According to officials, the commissioning and start of production is planned for 2027, which, if it is put into operation, will provide 400 people with permanent jobs.
To date, the enterprise, in cooperation with the British company «Mikon International», has carried out drilling and geological activities, and has highly assessed the deposit’s resources in three parts — northern, main, and mineral.
In this context, in order to determine the capacity and quality of raw materials, the company has sent samples of antimony to famous international laboratories abroad, which, according to the conclusions of mining experts, the antimony discovered here is fully industrial.
After getting acquainted with the activities of the company, the Head of State, Emomali Rahmon expressed his satisfaction with the work completed to date.
It should be noted that, taking into account the abundance of raw materials and the use of rich natural resources of Tajikistan, the leadership of the company, based on the goals of the Government of the country on the development of the industry and the implementation of state programs, has undertaken the construction of the antimony processing plant «Pahndara Mining» OJSC.
While getting acquainted with the project for the construction of this plant, the Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, gave specific instructions to those responsible for the high-quality completion of construction work and the provision of infrastructure, which will benefit the residents of neighboring villages.
Thus, the implementation of this project is another solid step in the development of the country’s industrial sector and increasing the industrial manufacturing capacity of the Republic of Tajikistan, and will overall have a positive impact on the progress of socio-economic sectors.
The increase in gross domestic product through antimony exports and the receipt of funds into the budget from the payment of taxes and other payments, the development of infrastructure, in particular the construction of roads, power lines, water supply and social facilities, the creation of new jobs and improving the living standards of the country’s population, retraining and improving the professional skills of specialists, expanding cooperation with scientific and research institutions of developed countries in the field of mining and engineering are considered among the advantages of the project.
The general contractor for the project is HKSkyline Development Limited, which has extensive experience in developing and implementing industrial projects, including antimony processing in the Middle East, Europe, and Asia.
The Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, generally considered the construction of the enterprise a solid step towards achieving the Government’s goals in the direction of rapid industrialization of the country, and expressed gratitude to the initiators of this initiative.
