The Prosecutors General of Tajikistan and Russia signed a memorandum on cooperation between the prosecutor’s offices of the two countries

On the sidelines of the 35th meeting of the Coordination Council of Prosecutors General of the Commonwealth of Independent States, a bilateral meeting between Prosecutor General of the Republic of Tajikistan Khabibullo Vokhizoda and Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation Alexander Gutsan took place in Dushanbe, Khovar reports citing press-office of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Tajikistan.

The Prosecutors General discussed topical issues of bilateral cooperation and regional security. The main focus was on the most serious threats, such as the fight against terrorism and extremism, joint counteraction to transnational organized crime, and the development of effective measures to combat cybercrime.

In the context of strengthening bilateral relations, issues related to the protection of the rights and interests of migrant workers and their families were also discussed.

The parties emphasized the high level of cooperation and common approaches to ensuring the rule of law, noting the strategic importance of strengthening cooperation in these areas.

Following the meeting, the Agreement on Cooperation between the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Tajikistan and the General Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation, and the Agreement on Cooperation between Military Prosecutors’ Offices were signed.

The documents are aimed at strengthening cooperation in the areas of oversight and law enforcement, as well as ensuring effective coordination of the activities of military prosecutors’ offices.
