44 Cultural Facilities Built, 120 Renovated and Reconstructed in Tajikistan in 2025

In 2025, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan participated in 65 international scientific and cultural events, festivals and forums across 21 countries, Minister of Culture Matlubahon Sattoriyon announced today at a press conference.
Among the major initiatives were the Days of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan held in China, Russia, the United States and Pakistan. Tajik artists also took part in events marking the 700th anniversary of Hafiz Sherozi, the “Shashmakom” evening at UNESCO headquarters, EXPO-2025 in Osaka (Japan), as well as festivals and cultural days in Turkmenistan, China and Iran.
According to the Minister, a number of significant international cultural events were also hosted in Tajikistan. These included the theatrical programme “Navruz of Friendship” held in connection with the signing of the Khujand Declaration, the International Festival of Professional Theatres “Navruz”, the 40th meeting of CIS Ministers of Culture, and the 13th International Exhibition and Fair “Book of Dushanbe”, among others.
“In total, 202 international and republican cultural events were held in 2025,” Matlubahon Sattoriyon noted.
Addressing the development of cultural infrastructure, the Minister reported that 44 cultural facilities were built during the reporting period, while 120 facilities—including libraries, cultural centres, museums, parks and music schools—were fully renovated and reconstructed.
“Eleven libraries have been relocated to new buildings and equipped with modern facilities. Construction is currently underway on nine facilities, with four more at the design stage,” the Minister concluded.
