Tajikistan, China Discuss Expanding Strategic, Scientific Cooperation

On Feb. 25, 2026, a meeting was held at the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Tajikistan with representatives of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China.
Attendees included Saidmurod Fattokhzoda, advisor to the director of the Center; Bakhtiyor Khamdamov, head of the Center’s Information Support Department; and Chinese diplomats Li Nan, head of the political department; Liu Yanbing, first secretary; and Li Zengyu, attaché.
The meeting focused on expanding scientific and analytical cooperation, intensifying information exchange, and strengthening bilateral ties. Fattokhzoda highlighted that Tajikistan-China relations continue to develop under a comprehensive strategic partnership and expressed confidence that high-level contacts will further enrich practical cooperation.
The two sides noted that previous agreements and memoranda of understanding have laid a foundation for joint research and experience-sharing. They also discussed plans for joint events, including conferences, forums, and official meetings in 2024–2025 to advance strategic cooperation.
Chinese representatives said bilateral ties have reached a new level in recent years and reaffirmed their readiness to expand cooperation in politics, economics, science, and analytics.
