Dushanbe to Host FAO Conference for Europe and Central Asia

The 35th conference of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations will be held in Dushanbe from May 11–15, officials announced March 11 during a virtual meeting.
The meeting was held between Qurbon Hakimzoda, minister of agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan, and Viorel Guttu, FAO deputy director-general and regional representative for Europe and Central Asia.
According to the ministry, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Tajik government and FAO to support the timely and effective preparation and organization of the conference.
The event will bring together representatives from 54 FAO member countries in Europe and Central Asia, along with international organizations, financial institutions, and development partners.
