Dushanbe Conference Panels to Assess Decade for Water Action Progress

DUSHANBE, 22.03.2026 (NIAT Khovar) – Special panels are planned for the Fourth Dushanbe Conference on the Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development,” Khovar reports.
The first session will focus on stakeholder expectations for the 2028 conference and will launch the process of assessing key results and achievements of the International Decade for Water Action.
The second session will review the relevance of existing interactive dialogues and consider whether revisions are needed in light of emerging challenges and priorities.
The third session will feature a forward-looking discussion on “Water in the Post-2030 Agenda,” inviting participants to exchange ideas on the role of water resources in the global development agenda beyond 2030.
Each special panel will be led by at least two co-organizers—Member States, U.N. entities, or other stakeholders—with participation from up to five partners.
