In the city of Guliston, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, met with leaders and activists of Sughd Province.

First, the Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, congratulated those present and the residents of the region on the International Navruz holiday.

The President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, analyzed the results of the socio-economic development of the region in January-February 2026 and set specific tasks for the officials of the region, cities, and districts to achieve national strategic goals and a worthy celebration of the 35th anniversary of state independence.

Taking into account the existing resources and potential, especially in the industrial, agricultural, and export sectors, it was considered necessary to further strengthen the pace of economic growth.

The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, considered it necessary to constantly monitor the effective use of existing opportunities, the provision and attraction of investment, the creation of new jobs, the development of production, and the growth of exports.

The Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, instructed the relevant structures to further strengthen their activities in the direction of implementing national strategic goals and ensuring sustainable development, and to take specific measures to eliminate existing shortcomings.

The Head of State also drew the attention of the executive bodies of the regional state power to the issue of full and timely implementation of the budget revenue plan, further strengthening tax discipline, and resolving the balance of tax debts.

During the analysis of the industrial sector, it was noted that its growth rate decreased by 13 percentage points compared to the same period last year.

In this regard, the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, executive bodies of the regional state power, cities and districts were instructed to fully analyze the reasons for the decline in production in the mining sector and take specific and effective measures to restore its growth rate.

In connection with the irregular activity of some industrial enterprises in the region, it was considered necessary to take urgent measures to launch inactive enterprises and increase their production capacity.

Instructions were also given regarding the provision of domestic products to the domestic market, including school uniforms.

In order to develop the agricultural sector and correct the shortcomings in this sector, the President of the country, Emomali Rahmon, instructed the leadership of the region and cities and districts to ensure the speed of cultivation, including cotton, in the shortest possible time and to fully utilize agricultural lands.

Also, the heads of cities and districts were instructed to strictly monitor the full implementation of the plan for the creation of gardens and vineyards.

The Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, recalled the progress of construction work in honor of the 35th anniversary of state independence and stated that to date, more than 13,300 new facilities and buildings have been commissioned in the cities and districts of the region within the framework of the plan for improvement and construction works.

The Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, expressed gratitude to the patriotic residents of the Sughd, entrepreneurs, leaders and activists for their valuable contribution to the prosperity and progress of the Motherland.

While analyzing the banking sector, the Head of State emphasized that the activities of a number of credit organizations do not meet the requirements of the time and the level of service to the population, especially in remote areas, requires serious improvement.

It was instructed that officials of the relevant structures accelerate the transition to non-cash payments and the use of digital means, and fundamentally improve the quality of banking services and their accessibility for the population.

In conclusion, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, once again recalled the need to hold a major national holiday — 35th anniversary of state independence — at the highest level of preparation, and stated that the hardworking people of the Sughd Province, with a high sense of responsibility, constructive spirit and loyalty to the state and nation, are making an even greater contribution to the implementation of the country’s strategic goals and the development of their homeland.

After the speech of the Head of State, Emomali Rahmon, on the results of the socio-economic development of Sughd in January-February of this year and the implementation of previous instructions and assignments of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the regional chairman and heads of cities and districts reported to the President of the country.

The Chairman of the Sughd Province, Rajab Ahmadzoda, expressed gratitude to the Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, for his constant efforts and care, guiding instructions and ensuring decent working and living conditions for the people, and informed that by the national holiday of the 35th anniversary of state independence, in harmony with the constructive policy of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, in addition to the planned, 3 thousand more facilities will be built and put into operation.
