President Emomali Rahmon Attends Wreath-Laying Ceremony at the Eternal Flame Memorial in Dushanbe

On May 9, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency, Emomali Rahmon, arrived at the capital’s Victory Park to participate in a wreath-laying ceremony marking Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945.
The Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, Army General Emomali Rahmon, was welcomed by the Chairman of the Majlisi milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and Mayor of Dushanbe, Rustam Emomali, and the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan, Colonel General Emomali Sobirzoda.
Before participating in the wreath-laying ceremony, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, inaugurated the reconstructed and renovated Victory Park State Institution, which had been restored by the Executive Authority of Dushanbe.
After visiting the Victory Park Museum and viewing the exhibition dedicated to the heroism and dedication of Tajikistan’s representatives during the Great Patriotic War, the Head of State praised the high-quality reconstruction work carried out at the site and expressed gratitude to the Mayor of Dushanbe, Rustam Emomali, and the contractors involved.
The President also gave additional instructions and recommendations for the continued improvement and renovation of Victory Park.
On this occasion, the site of the wreath-laying ceremony was festively decorated, while the military orchestra and participants stood in ceremonial formation.
The President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, laid a wreath at the Eternal Flame memorial in honor of the officers, soldiers, and all those who lost their lives during that terrible war.
After laying the wreath and honoring the memory of the heroes of the Tajik people, the Head of State paid tribute to the fallen defenders of the homeland.
On this day, the Chairman of the Majlisi milli Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and Mayor of Dushanbe, Rustam Emomali, the Chairman of the Majlisi Namoyandagon of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan, Faizali Idizoda, on behalf of the Parliament, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, Kokhir Rasulzoda, on behalf of the Government, also laid wreaths at the Eternal Flame.
In addition, wreaths were laid at the Eternal Flame memorial by representatives of the Ministry of Defense and other security agencies, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Dushanbe, and representatives of the 201st Military Base.
Victory Park, located on the hills in northeastern Dushanbe, is one of the capital’s most important memorial complexes and historical and cultural landmarks.
The park was inaugurated on May 9, 1975, to mark the 30th anniversary of Victory Day and stands as a symbol of respect for the heroism and selflessness of the people during the Great Patriotic War.
An Eternal Flame burns at the center of the memorial complex, where annual flower-laying ceremonies are held in memory of the victims of the war.
