DUSHANBE, 11.07.2026 (NIAT Khovar) – On July 9, a meeting of the Coordination Council on Drug Abuse Prevention was held at the Drug Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Dilrabo Mansuri.

Chairperson of the Council Dilrabo Mansuri addressed issues related to the implementation of the instructions and directives of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, as well as the decisions of the Coordination Council on drug abuse prevention and measures to ensure the implementation of the “National Strategy on Drug Control in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021–2030” and its Implementation Action Plan for 2026–2030.

During the meeting, reports were presented by the Director of the Drug Control Agency, as well as deputy chairpersons of Sughd and Khatlon provinces and the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast on the implementation and enforcement of the requirements of the “National Strategy on Drug Control in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021–2030”.

Law enforcement agencies, executive bodies of state authority, ministries and relevant government institutions were instructed to submit reports to the Drug Control Agency within the established deadlines on the implementation of measures outlined in the Strategy’s Action Plan.

Following discussions on the agenda items, recommendations were provided to the relevant ministries and agencies to take the necessary measures to ensure the proper implementation of the Strategy’s requirements in combating illicit drug trafficking, controlling the legal circulation of narcotic substances, and preventing drug addiction, thereby making a meaningful contribution to reducing the level of drug dependence.

At the conclusion of the meeting, relevant decisions were adopted regarding the issues discussed and the further activities of the Council.
