Transport and logistics cooperation was the focus of talks between Minister of Transport of Tajikistan, Azim Ibrahim, and Golestan Province Gov. Aliasgar Tahmosbi of Iran in Dushanbe.

According to the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tajikistan, the two sides emphasized the strong potential for expanding cooperation in transport and logistics and the need to make greater use of those opportunities.

The two sides discussed expanding international road transportation and establishing regular flights between Dushanbe and Iran’s Golestan Province.

Golestan Province is located in northeastern Iran along the southeastern coast of the Caspian Sea. Its administrative center is Gorgan, formerly known as Astarabad until 1937. Created in 1997 after being separated from Mazandaran Province, Golestan borders Turkmenistan to the north.

The Incheh Borun border crossing, which is connected to Iran’s railway network, serves as a key transportation hub between the two countries.
