On October 24, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Leader of the Nation, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon, inaugurated the fish processing facility of Bahor Limited Liability Company in the Romit rural community of Vahdat.
President Emomali Rahmon was informed that the farm’s export capacity is expected to reach 300 tons of fish by the end of 2026, with plans to increase this figure to 1,000 tons annually in 2027.
To date, the domestic company Bahor has exported 120 tons of frozen fish to the Russian Federation. The company has also begun negotiations to export its products to European countries, including Hungary and England. Product samples have been sent to several other countries to establish future cooperation.
It was reported that the new processing facility has provided permanent employment for 30 local residents. During construction, which began in 2024, another 40 local residents were employed temporarily.
The new facility covers an area of 30 sotkas (approximately 3,000 square meters). Its production and processing equipment was imported from leading Chinese companies and installed at the site.
During the visit, President Emomali Rahmon was shown the fish processing and fish roe collection procedures. The facility produces fish meat and fish roe for export.
The fish are first thoroughly washed in large, specially designed containers and prepared for further processing. In a separate room, the roe is extracted and placed in containers. The subsequent processing stages involve cutting and freezing. Once processing is complete, the fish and roe are packed into boxes and stored in cold-storage facilities.
At the same location, following the opening of the fish processing facility, President Emomali Rahmon reviewed the design for the second phase of the fish processing plant, which will include a cold-storage facility with a capacity of 300 tons, and laid the foundation stone to launch construction.
Following the Head of State’s guidance, the company’s director undertook to build a large fish processing plant in Dushanbe within a short period to supply the population with high-quality, environmentally friendly products.
More than 1,000 tons of fish are currently being raised in Bahor’s ponds, and the construction of additional ponds will provide opportunities to increase production further.
At present, Bahor Limited Liability Company’s fish farming enterprise provides permanent employment for 500 local residents.
The company’s ponds primarily raise rainbow trout and golden trout.
The products of Bahor’s fish farming enterprise are of high quality and meet international standards. The company holds international ISO and Halal certifications.
It is worth recalling that President Emomali Rahmon inaugurated the fish farming enterprise on October 8, 2020, and visited it again on November 10, 2022, to review its operations.
During his visit to the fish farm, President Emomali Rahmon gave instructions and guidance to local entrepreneur Saidmuhriddin Sayfov on increasing fish production and exports, establishing fish sales outlets, and opening cafeterias and restaurants specializing in fish dishes.
The President was informed that his instructions are being implemented as planned.
Bahor LLC has established more than 10 trout sales outlets and 10 cafeterias and restaurants in Dushanbe, Bokhtar in Khatlon Province, and other districts. These facilities are operating successfully.
It is particularly noteworthy that the entrepreneur has created more than 150 permanent jobs at the Bahor Forel restaurant in Dushanbe alone. The restaurant was inaugurated on July 16, 2024, in the presence of the Leader of the Nation, Emomali Rahmon, and the Chairman of Dushanbe, Rustam Emomali.
The entrepreneur pledged to continue constructing new fish ponds in the Romit rural community to expand fish farming in the future. With the support of the Government and within the framework of the State Program for the Development of Fish Farming, the company plans to supply the capital’s markets with fish products and increase exports in the coming years.
In particular, as part of its development outlook for the 40th anniversary of State Independence, the company plans to achieve the following targets by 2031:
Expand the number of fish farming ponds to 50.
Increase commercial fish production to 4,000 tons.
Introduce cage-based fish farming in large ponds.
Increase the production and breeding of fish fry from 2 million to 4 million.
In addition, using its available financial resources, the management of Bahor LLC plans to build a fish processing and packaging plant, a freezing facility with cold storage, and a large-scale warehouse for storing frozen fish. The company also intends to construct and commission School No. 33 in Jaloliddin Balkhi District, designed to accommodate 1,500 students studying in two shifts.
After reviewing the operations of the fish farming enterprise, President Emomali Rahmon commended the patriotic entrepreneur Saidmuhriddin Sayfov for his initiatives to improve the local area, develop the fish farming sector, create jobs, and establish a fish processing facility to facilitate exports.
