SCO Chief: Summit in Uzbekistan to Contribute to Multilateral Cooperation
Dushanbe, 16.03.2016. (NIAT «Khovar»). — Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Rashid Alimov held a meeting with the Uzbek Foreign Minister Abdulaziz Komilov in Beijing.
Alimov said that the upcoming summit in the Uzbekistan’s capital of Tashkent will bring the cooperation within the organization to new level, reported RIA Novosti.
SCO General Secretary also stressed that the current presidency of Uzbekistan and the documents that are expected to be signed during the upcoming Council meeting of the heads of the SCO member states in Tashkent should become a milestone in the 15-year history of the organization and brings multilateral cooperation to a new level.
Tashkent will host the SCO summit on June 23-24.
The SCO is apolitical, economic and military alliance that includes Russia, China, Kazakhstan,Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
