SCO Member States to expand scientific and technical cooperation
Dushanbe, 7.04.2016 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The regular meeting of the permanent working group on scientific and technical cooperation of the SCO Member States chaired by Kyrgyz side took place on April 5-6 in Beijing.
According to the SCO official website, during the meeting the experts have discussed the issues of strengthening multilateral scientific and technical cooperation in the SCO framework, including holding of third Meeting of heads of ministries and departments of science and technology of the SCO Member States in the second half of 2016 in Kyrgyzstan.
The draft measures’ plan for the implementation of the Agreement between the governments of the SCO Member States on scientific and technical cooperation, the Concept of scientific-technical partnership in the SCO and the procedure for the selection and funding of joint projects in the field of science, technology and innovation have been considered. The proposals to the draft list of measures for further developing project activities within the SCO for the period 2017-2021 were also developed.
It should be noted that the Permanent working group on scientific-technical cooperation was established in May 2010 and is aimed to prepare proposals on the expansion of multilateral scientific and technical cooperation within the SCO and the improvement of its juridical and legal base.
