Tajik delegation participates in the ceremony of laying the “lawn of SCO”
Dushanbe, 29.04.2016 /NIAT «Khovar»/. A delegation of Tajikistan led by First Deputy Foreign Minister Zohidi participated in a tree-planting event with Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Rashid Olimov, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Kazakhstan Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrisov, Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Erlan Abdyldaev and deputy foreign minister of Russia Morgulov and Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Anvarjon Nosirov as well as ambassadors of the founding members of the SCO, high-ranking representatives of the diplomatic missions and the media on a lawn at the SCO Secretariat in Beijing, on April 29, 2016.
«I am glad to welcome you in the headquarters of the SCO and heartily thank for your personal participation in the opening of the SCO lawn. We already have six pine-trees here that symbolize the friendship of six countries, founders of the organization, loyalty to the Shanghai spirit and the creative power of joint development of the SCO,» Secretary General of the SCO Rashid Alimov noted at the tree planting ceremony.
Currently SCO unites 6 member states and 6 observer states(Afghanistan, Belarus, India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan) and 6 partner countries on dialogue (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Nepal, Turkey and Sri Lanka).
