Another attempt to transfer drugs prevented on the Tajik-Afghan border
Dushanbe, 17.05.2016 /NIAT «Khovar»/. On one of the sections of the frontier post “Darvoz” the border officers together with the Management staff of the Drug control agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan have prevented an attempt of illegal crossing of the state border by a citizen of Afghanistan.
According to the press center of the Main Directorate of Border Troops of the State Committee for National Security, a 23-year-old resident of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan was arrested with 9 kg of opium and 9 kg of hashish. The total weight of the seized drugs amounted to 18 kg.
At the scene of the incident investigation is under way.
