Head of Customs Service, U.S. Ambassador discussed strengthening of cooperation
Dushanbe, 18.05.2016. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The issues to strengthen the customs cooperation between Tajikistan and USA were the the main theme of the meeting of Head of Customs Service of the country Abdufattoh Ghoib and U.S. Ambassador to Tajikistan Ms. Elizabeth Millard.
A. Ghoib, having informed about the activity of Customs Service under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, has evaluated important its role in ensuring country’s economic security, fighting against illegal drug trafficking, protection of material and cultural values, strengthening of foreign trade policy and the enrichment of the country’s budget.
It was noted that within the framework of cooperation, the U.S. Government is providing technical assistance to Customs body of Tajikistan.
American diplomat, in turn, having expressed her satisfaction from the perspectives of the development of trade relations and customs cooperation between the two countries, has added that in the future taking into account the existing opportunities it will be strengthened.
