Tajikistan attends OIC meeting in Tashkent
Dushanbe, 19.10.2016. /NIAT «Khovar»/. Tajikistan participated in the 43rd session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of Organisation of Islamic Co-operation (OIC), which is being held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Tajikistans delegation was headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sirojiddin Aslov.
The OIC ministerial meeting has exchanged views on a broad range of issues related to development and implementation of joint actions and initiatives on ensuring peace and stability, as well as economic and social development of the countries of the region.
Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Aslov also addressed at the OIC session of the Council of Foreign Ministers.
According to the Tajik MFA information department, Aslov stressed upon the necessity of resuming negotiations on the Middle East peace process on the basis of the UN resolutions and other international initiatives.
He reportedly also underlined the significance of involving Afghanistan in the regional economic processes, providing security of transit trade corridors through Afghanistan, as well as expanding economic cooperation, including development and implementation of regional and interregional projects within the OIC area.
Minister Aslov yesterday met with Kazakh Foreign Minister Erlan Idrissov on the sidelines of the 43rd session of the OIC council, which is being held in Tashkent in Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed bilateral relations between the two countries and means of boosting and developing them in addition to a set of issues of mutual interest.
They also exchanged views on topical issues of mutual interest on the international agenda.
