Final preparatory meeting of News Agencies World Council ahead of 5th Congress held in Baku
Dushanbe, 16.11.2016. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The final preparatory meeting of the News Agencies World Council (NACO) has yesterday been held in Baku ahead of the 5th News Agencies World Congress that kicks off in the Azerbaijani capital on Wednesday, AZERTAC reported.
The Congress is co-organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and AZERTAC. Its slogan is “New challenges for news agencies”.
Participants in the NACO meeting included heads and representatives of Press Association, TASS, SPA, Associated Press, KUNA, and EFE agencies, as well as secretaries general of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA) and the Federation of Arab News Agencies (FANA).
The work of 5th News Agencies World Congress is also attended by the Deputy Director of NIAT “Khovar” Sarvaroy Azimova.
In his remarks at the meeting, AZERTAC Director General Aslan Aslanov provided an insight into the preparations for the 5th Congress. “The government of Azerbaijan accords great importance to our Congress and prioritized it as milestone media event. The Heydar Aliyev Foundation assisted us with organizing the event, and indeed, their assistance was outstanding.”
President of the News Agencies World Congress and Saudi Press Agency Abdullah Bin Fahd Al-Hussein and CEO of Press Association Clive Marshall thanked the Azerbaijani government for the excellent preparations.
The meeting participants discussed the issues on the agenda of the fifth Congress.
