PM Rasulzoda: “Tajikistan attaches more priority to its membership in SCO”
Dushanbe, 03.11.2016. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The 15th session of the Council of heads of governments – Prime Ministers of the SCO Member States was held today in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. The work of current session was attended by the Prime Minister of the country Qohir Rasulzoda.
Before the beginning of the regular session, the Prime Minister of the country has attended the meeting of the President of Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambayev with the heads of official delegations.
Firstly, the work of 15th session of the Council of heads of governments – Prime Ministers of the SCO Member States kicked off in a narrow meeting of the heads of participating delegations. Then, the issues of agenda of the session have been discussed at the expanded meeting.
Prime Minister Qohir Rasulzoda in his speech at the expanded meeting, in particular has stressed that the Republic of Tajikistan attaches more priority to its membership in SCO and pays special attention to the development of friendly and neighborly relations with the members of this distinguished international organization. It was noted that in the current year the SCO Member States will summarize the results of their 15 years membership in SCO and to develop their future plans and intentions, which covers the prospects of development of bilateral relations of the SCO Member States.
According to Prime Minister of the country, Tajikistan as an active SCO member pays special attention to the development of intergovernmental relations between the member states in the fields of economy, trade, road, transport, industry, energy, investment and supports the creation of economic belt as part of Great Silk Road, as well as joint implementation of major regional projects for the construction of railways.
At the session of the Council of heads of governments – Prime Ministers of SCO Member States special attention was also paid to the further activity of Interbank Association and other councils under SCO, its organizational and financial works, formation of SCO University, Bank and Development Fund, as well as on the issues of working agenda, the Joint Declaration of heads of delegations and relevant decisions have been passed.
During the session of Council of heads of governments – Prime Ministers of SCO Member States have also discussed the issues related to joint interaction in combating negative phenomena of the modern world, as well as expressed the readiness and interest of their countries for the development and strengthening of cooperation in this direction.
The results of the regular session have been announced in the press conference with the participation of a wide range of media representatives. It should be noted that following the meeting the Presidency of the Council of heads of governments — Prime Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization has been entrusted to the Russian Federation.
Recall that within the framework of the 15th session of the Council of heads of governments – Prime Ministers of SCO Member States the Prime Minister of the country Qohir Rasulzoda has met with Chairman of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Keqiang. At the meeting the issues of current state and prospects of intergovernmental cooperation between Tajikistan and China, as well as the implementation of agreements reached at the level of the leaders of the two states, have been considered.
