Sherali Mirzo to represent Tajikistan at a 71 session of CIS Council of Defense Ministers in Moscow
Dushanbe, 30.11.2016. /NIAT «Khovar»/. Minister of Defense, Sherali Mirzo, will represent Tajikistan at a 71st meeting of the Council of defense Ministers of the States members of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) that will take place inMoscow on November 30, Faridoun Mahmadaliyev, a spokesman for the Ministry of Defense (MoD) of Tajikistan, told NIAT “Khovar” today morning.
The event will be attended by the heads of military departments of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, and also representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, Secretariat of the Council of defense Ministers of States –participants of the CIS Antiterrorist center of the CIS and the Coordination service of the Council of border troops commanders of the CIS.
According to the Department of information and mass communications of the Russian Defense Ministry the meeting will consider 20 issues on various spheres of cooperation between the Defense Ministries.
It is planned to summarize the results for the year 2016 and to plan joint work in 2017, including events dedicated to the 25 anniversary of the CIS.
Following the meeting it is planned to make decisions on the development of the united air defense system, communication system, expansion of cooperation in the field of humanitarian demining, the training of military personnel, holding joint events of combat training and field training and military sports and educational activities in the CIS format.
Held a number of bilateral meetings of Defense Ministers of States – participants of CIS, which is expected to discuss topical issues of cooperation in military and military-technical spheres, as well as approve the plans of cooperation of the defense ministries in 2017.
