DUSHANBE, 20.03.2017. /NIAT «Khovar»/. On the eve of the International Day of Navruz, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon met with the representatives of intelligentsia of the country today at the Kokhi Navruz Complex.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Head of State Emomali Rahmon offered his congratulations to the people of Tajikistan and foreign compatriots on the occasion of this majestic holiday.

President of the country Emomali Rahmon spoke on revival of ancient Navruz, its characteristic features, which during the years of Tajikistan’s independence gained a particular greatness and became a nationwide celebration of the people.

The head of state noted in particular on Navruz holiday that was declared as international and became a global festival, and expressed his confidence that the Tajik intelligentsia must make every effort for agitation and propaganda of this ancient holiday.

According to the Leader of the Nation, the intelligentsia — as an active and powerful force of society, should play an extremely important role in the formation of national self-knowledge and self-awareness; faithfully and firmly defend the interests of the nation and state.

Due to the fact that the President declared 2017 as the Year of Youth, the Head of State Emomali Rahmon stressed that the representatives of the intelligentsia of the country should support the initiatives of the creative generation, instruct them on the study of sciences, the development of professions and crafts for the benefit of improvement of our beloved homeland — Tajikistan.

All scientific and educational structures of the country were instructed to create favorable conditions for the young intelligentsia to study modern science.

Propaganda of the greatest achievement of our people – the independence and freedom for the benefit of strengthening political stability, unity, mutual understanding, national pride, and protection of the interests of dear Tajikistan, language, culture, national traditions, celebrations and rituals was called one of the important tasks of the intelligentsia.
