Tajikistan, U.S. discussed issues to expand cooperation in the sphere of emergency situations
DUSHANBE, 15.03.2017 /NIAT “Khovar”/. Rustam Nazarzoda, Chairman of the Committee for Emergency Situations and Civil Defense under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, on March 15 met with a U.S. delegation headed by the Chief of Joint Staff of the National Guard of Virginia Paul Griffin, here in Dushanbe.
According to the press center of the Committee, the meeting took place within the framework of partnership programme between CESCD and National Guard of Virginia.
During the meeting the parties have discussed issues of expansion of bilateral cooperation in the field of prevention and liquidation of emergency situations of natural and technogenic character, the implementation of new joint projects between the CESCD and National Guard of Virginia, the exchange of experience in this field, providing methodological assistance in carrying out rescue operations in case of natural disasters.
“The U.S. government will continue to support Tajikistan in all aspects of bilateral cooperation, especially in the field of prevention and liquidation of emergency situations”, — said Griffin.
