The Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon and the King of Belgium Philippe Léopold Louis Marie exchanged congratulatory messages on the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between both countries.

The message of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, His Excellency Emomali Rahmon reads,in part:

«Your Majesty,

It gives me great pleasure extending to Your Majesty my congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of important milestone in relationships between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kingdom of Belgium — the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

The Kingdom of Belgium was one of the first European countries that recognized the independence of the Republic of Tajikistan and our countries gave an impetus to strengthening of qualitatively new interstate relationships.

Over the years friendly relations and multi-faceted cooperation between Tajikistan and Belgium have consistently enhanced in political, economic, scientific and cultural fields.

In the near and long-term prospects further development of ties with the Kingdom of Belgium — one of the founders and important countries of the European Union will be of special significance for Tajikistan.

I wish you, Your Majesty, good health, well-being and new successes in ensuring the prosperity and progress of the friendly people of Belgium».

The message of the King of Belgium Philippe Léopold Louis Marie reads, in part:

I am glad that we celebrate in 2017 the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Belgium and Tajikistan.

Over this period, our countries could develop cooperation in various fields, strengthening the bonds of friendship that bind us together with a view to enriching and deepening mutual understanding.
