Tajikistan delegation attended the meeting of the OIC Foreign Ministers Council
DUSHANBE, 12.07.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The Tajik delegation headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, Muzaffar Huseinzoda, took part in the 44th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which was held in Abidjan, the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire.
According to the MFA Information Department, during his speech, M. Huseinzoda stressed that «OIC should play an efficient role in solving problems of the Islamic world.» Meanwhile, he drew the participants’ attention to issues related to strengthening cooperation in fight against terrorism and extremism, prevention of financing of terrorist and extremist groups and movements.
It was also noted that financial and economic support to the developing countries, as well as assistance to their efforts in improvement of social infrastructure and creation of new jobs can become the most effective measures to prevent young people from recruitment to extremist groups.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Zarobiddin Kosimi also participated in the meeting.
