Celebration of the Independence Day of the Republic of Tajikistan in Geneva
DUSHANBE, 13.09.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. On September 12, on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, an official reception with the participation of high-ranking representatives of the Swiss Confederation, the Geneva canton, the United Nations and other international organizations was held in Geneva.
According to the Mission of the Republic of Tajikistan in Geneva, the official delegation of Tajikistan headed by the Minister of Justice Rustam Shohmurod as well as the representatives of Tajik diaspora living in Switzerland and neighbouring France took part at the reception.
The event was opened by the Ambassador of Tajikistan, J. Khamidov who addressed the ceremony with a welcoming speech. In his speech, the Ambassador mentioned the achievements of the country within 26 years of independence under the wise leadership of the Founder of the peace and national unity-the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, on the path of creation and development as evidenced by the unity and real independence of the country.
During the reception a documentary film about independent Tajikistan, its unique nature and wealth, as well as the exhibition of national arts and crafts, Tajik music and cuisine were presented.
It should be noted that the cultural and political event was held at the high level.
