Tajik FM, UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs discuss cooperation in New York
DUSHANBE, 26.07.2017. /NIAT “Khovar”/. Sirodjidin Aslov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan as part of his visit to New York for the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly met on September 25 with the UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs Liu Zhenmin.
According to the MFA Information Department, during the meeting, issues of cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) were discussed in the context of Sustainable Development Goals, including water-related goals.
The sides also exchanged views on the official launch of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028” and an International Conference on the Implementation of the new Decade, to be held in Dushanbe in 2018.
