Dushanbe hosted a regular meeting of the Public Council of Tajikistan
DUSHANBE, 28.12.2017. /NIAT «Khovar»/. A regular meeting of the Public Council of the Republic of Tajikistan was held yesterday, December 27 at the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan here in Dushanbe.
As NIAT “Khovar” correspondent reports, the meeting was attended by the members of the Council — leaders of political parties, public associations, creative unions and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), who reported on the results of their activities.
Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on Issues of Social Development and Public Relations Abdujabbor Rahmonzoda while positively assessing the role of civil society in the life of the country, stressed that over the next year relevant structures should make even greater efforts to improve the situation in different areas and spheres. Abdujabbor Rahmonzoda also noted that: “The present Address of the Leader of the Nation differs from last year’s in that it presented the most important issues for the future of Tajikistan, which enters a qualitatively new stage of its development”.
According to him, today the situation on the world arena is becoming more tense and it was stated in the Address of the Leader of the Nation.
The Ombudsman for Human Rights in the Republic of Tajikistan Zarif Alizoda also made a speech in the meeting. He noted that one of the key issues for the future functioning of the Council is the Charter of the Public Council and its further improvement.
We will recall that the Public Council of Tajikistan was established in April 1996 on the basis of the agreement on public consent, signed on March 9, 1996. The Public Council of the Republic of Tajikistan includes all officially registered political parties, public associations, creative unions and non-governmental organizations. The Council is led directly by the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan His Excellency Mr. Emomali Rahmon.
