Dushanbe hosted meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and the Joint Commission on Delimitation and Demarcation of the Border
DUSHANBE, 11.01.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On January 10, 2018, there were held in Dushanbe the meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan on Trade and Economic Cooperation and the Joint Tajik-Uzbek Intergovernmental Commission on the Delimitation and Demarcation of the State Border of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The meetings were chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Qohir Rasulzoda and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, who arrived in Dushanbe on a working visit.
Before the commencement of the meetings of the commissions, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
As part of the last talks, both parties have visually demonstrated that huge significance which they attach to the development of relations between the two brotherly states in the spirit of friendship and good-neighborliness.
All meetings were held in a constructive manner, in the spirit of mutual understanding and mutual respect.
During the meetings, a wide range of topical issues of bilateral cooperation, including the main parameters of Tajik-Uzbek cooperation in the spheres of economy and trade, transport, industry, culture and education were discussed.
It was paid particular attention to the preparation of the forthcoming state visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mirziyoyev Shavkat Miromonovich to the Republic of Tajikistan.
The subjects of further actions on delimitation and demarcation of the state border and resolution of issues related to mutual trips and stay of citizens of the two countries in each other’s territories has separately been worked out.
The parties have outlined the targets for further enhancing fruitful trade and economic cooperation, the implementation of joint regional projects, the development of cultural and interethnic dialogue.
It was hoped that the outcome of the conducted talks will be an important factor in deepening bilateral multi-faceted cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Following the meetings of the commissions the relevant protocols have been signed.
