Tajik FEZs produced goods in the amount of over 368 million TJS in 2017
DUSHANBE, 23.012.2018. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The subjects of free economic zones /FEZs/ of Tajikistan have produced goods in the amount of 368.3 million TJS in 2017. It was told by the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Zavqi Zavqizoda at the press conference on January 22.
According to him, 71 domestic and foreign companies are currently registered in four free economic zones of the republic. 11 new entities were registered in the free economic zones in 2017.
“During the reporting period, the majority of production was produced in the free economic zone “Sughd”, since it has 24 entities. The FEZ “Sughd” produced products in the amount of 332.6 million TJS.
The subjects of FEZ “Dangara” produced goods in the amount of 35 million TJS, and FEZ “Panj” — 700 thousand TJS.
“We are making today every effort to develop other free economic zones. For example, special privileges are provided for investors in the FEZ “Panj”, which contributed to the increase of subjects in this zone. Only for 2017 5 new entities were registered in the FEZ “Panj”, which will start production and provision of services in the first half of 2018”, — said Zavqizoda.
It should be noted that each FEZ operating on the territory of the Republic of Tajikistan has its own distinctive features that contribute to its competitiveness and strategic stability at the market. By attracting foreign investments and introducing advanced management experience, the FEZs created on the territory of the republic are called upon to stimulate sustainable development of the economy of the country and its regions.
During the press conference, it was also touched upon the most important issues of the country’s socio-economic development, including the forecast for the development of the republic’s economy, the current state of free economic zones, the production of agricultural products and their prices in domestic markets, the creation of border markets, import-substituting enterprises on the territory of free economic zones, etc.
